The Matrix Un-loaded
Jun. 4th, 2003 02:53 pmMy room mate still hasn't seen the new Matrix film, and
laurelt and I wanted to see it a second time. So off we went to a matinee (unemployment hath its benefits). We got there waaaaaaay too early and sat and chatted. Then the previews started: I suffered through the @#$%! 2Fast 2Furious trailer again, then suffered even more through the Freddie vs. Jason trailer. I was just settling in for another romance with guns 'n' latex when--
POP!!!!!
The whole theater goes black. Pitch black. The power was out. That's never happened to me at a theater before. Within a few minutes the lobby was crowded with understanding adults and bewildered youngsters who couldn't quite understand why Finding Nemo wasn't finished. The Century Theater management, to their credit, got free movie passes for all of us organized pretty quickly. We'll go try again on Friday afternoon.
Saving graces: At least we weren't half way into the movie when the power died. And at least I didn't have to endure the Italian Job trailer for the 50th time.
I consoled myself by going to Tower and picking up a copy of The Animatrix. So tonight over dinner I'll still get to sink into virtual bliss.
