OK, OK! I give up, already!

Resistance is futile, I guess. Either that or I've just got waaaaaaay too much free time on my hands.

I started up a Friendster profile last night (as many of you have already discovered -- Emily made a friend request before I'd finished the registration process!) so feel free to hunt me up there.

Also started a g-blog account this morning so I can comment on folks' blogs there, and probably take advantage of their unlimited RSS feeds. The username is the same as here: winter0. Dawn, feel free go gloat all you like in the comments. :-)

Gloated at G-blog when I checked users online and saw the name...

But... but... Friendster!??!?!

Now, I'm all alone in my refusal. You were my stalwart companion in the journey against evil!

Despite my initial misgivings, Friendster doesn't seem to be selling email addresses to anyone. And I thought that eventually they'll close the beta and actually start charging people to join the community, so I might as well get in now.

I think I've got most if not all of the initial friends requests I'd like out at this point. Now I need to finish setting up over at g-blog...

He was all jealous that Stephen Alzis wanted to be my friend. :D

Friendster charging?

I believe Friendster's clever plan is to charge for organizing get-together for Friendster networks, thus driving them to Meetup.com.

Not to be confused with their clever plan to make money off showing ads to users while not having enough servers to let people log on, or other previous clever plans.
