A new old alternative
Mar. 11th, 2007 10:52 amFor those of you in the Bay Area who haven't heard the news yet, Channel 104.9 has flipped back to alternative rock. You probably recall that dark day about a year ago when Clear Channel unceremoniously switched them to a new format, La Romantica, which specialized in romantic Spanish-language music. I'm happy that change didn't work out for them.
The new/old 104.9 is still in that happy early stage where they haven't hired any on-air personalities yet, so there are no DJs nattering and a paucity of advertising. That'll change soon, I'm sure, but it'll be extra-nice until they hire some more people. Right now it seems that the music they're playing is a bit softer than Live105, but not as soft as Alice Radio.
