A new old alternative
For those of you in the Bay Area who haven't heard the news yet, Channel 104.9 has flipped back to alternative rock. You probably recall that dark day about a year ago when Clear Channel unceremoniously switched them to a new format, La Romantica, which specialized in romantic Spanish-language music. I'm happy that change didn't work out for them.
The new/old 104.9 is still in that happy early stage where they haven't hired any on-air personalities yet, so there are no DJs nattering and a paucity of advertising. That'll change soon, I'm sure, but it'll be extra-nice until they hire some more people. Right now it seems that the music they're playing is a bit softer than Live105, but not as soft as Alice Radio.
