Hurry up and Google already....
May. 9th, 2004 10:48 pmSo after gathering sound advice from friends I wrote a polite email to my HR recruiter asking if she could let me know in writing that Google was officially hiring me (well, contracting me to be precise).
She wrote me back this evening doing exactly that. Huzzah!
Thing is that she listed my start date as TOMORROW! And this after she phoned me on Friday to tell me it would be another week. And since I didn't see the email 'till 10:30 this evening, it's extremely unlikely that she'll get my return email asking for clarification until she comes back in tomorrow morning.
I'm fairly certain it's just a typo, and I'll be starting in a week. But just in case I'll be all ready to go in tomorrow. I don't find any of this annoying, just amusing.

capricious_k wrote an interesting entry using the analogy of a mountain, with her life feeling like she is on a plateau. I'm at a different place; I feel like I've been on a plateau for two years, but now I'm ready to climb, and climb hard and fast. It's been a big, long rest.
