I just got the call. Google hired me.

Let me try that again:

GOOGLE!

HIRED!

ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

After two years of solid unemployment, I've finally been hired. Somebody values my skills and abilities! Validation!!

I'll be working at first as a contractor; assuming they like me after they've been working with me for a while, they'll hire me as headcount becomes available. I'll be working in the same group as capricious_k; the User Support team is the interface between Google and the general unwashed masses of Internet users. So I'll be continuing a career in corporate communication, just in a medium and environment very different from what I'm used to.

Oh, and the pay, even as a contractor, is about the same as the best I ever earned doing video production. :-)

Thank you to all my friends and family for your support during the longest vacation of my life.

Oh, and as previously mentioned, much bouncing up and down and squealing will ensue when I see you tonight. And heck, probably most of the time for a week or so. YAYAYAY!!!
