JesusPhone 2.0
Jul. 11th, 2008 10:55 pmI love my iPhone. I really, really love my iPhone. And what I really love it most for is surfing the web on the go. So as I compared what I would pay for getting a new iPhone 3G (which surfs a lot faster) vs. what I paid for my iPhone for the last year, it was really a no brainer. Off to the Apple store on University Avenue (aka "Steve's Store" since it's the one closest to Steve Jobs' house).
I went after work which meant I didn't get soured by Apple's launch woes. Unfortunately I had to stand in line for about 3 hours. Apple now requires the phones to get activated in-store (to help cut down on the number of phones getting hacked, unlocked, and then shipped overseas). Personally my purchase went extremely quickly; I was out of the store in less than 15 minutes (about as quickly as when I purchased my first iPhone). The hang up was actually getting into the store. My phone was a simple upgrade, but lots of other purchasers were new to the iPhone, transferring numbers from other cariers, and this caused the process to go painfully slow for them.
But now I'm happily at home getting the phone all configured, and it seems even nicer and zippier than my first phone. Mobile intertubes, here I come!
