Impressions of New York City

I concentrated really hard--

Yata! Hello New York City!

capricious_k and I visited NYC to celebrate another fabulous year together. Needless to say, we had a great trip which included watching the Macy's Day Thanksgiving Parade from our hotel, seeing lots of landmarks (like Lady Liberty, Times Square, Central Park, Ground Zero, and the Empire State Building), eating great food, and visiting museums.
This was my first-ever trip to NYC, and I was surprised by how much I enjoyed the city. I knew I'd like it, but I didn't expect to love it. To me, the Big Apple has always been a fantasy, a place depicted in TV shows, movies, and comic books. To actually be there, to have that fantasy become reality, was a wonderful feeling. It gave the whole city a magical air to me. Some random thoughts:
I do truly hope to go back again someday. There's a lot more for me to see and do. If you'd like to, you can check out my photo album of the trip here.

- Everywhere I looked I imagined Spiderman, Daredevil, or the Avengers battling supervillians.
- There's always someplace good to eat.
- New York City is a great place for art deco lovers. Good thing I am one.
- The sheer density of the city is far beyond any metropolis I've ever visited before.
- Hearing real New York natives speak with real New York accents in New York City was surreal.
- Celebrity siting: Harvey Keitel in Tribeca.
- The whole city is one giant Law and Order set.
- We barely scratched the surface of the city. There's about a million more things to do there.
I do truly hope to go back again someday. There's a lot more for me to see and do. If you'd like to, you can check out my photo album of the trip here.
