[Google] The finish line
Aug. 4th, 2004 10:48 amI've just signed an offer letter from Google. More money than I've ever earned before, full benefits (health, dental, ocular -- I've never had bennies in my whole life), stock options. Starting this coming Monday, I'll be a full-time regular employee at Google, with the title Online Support Coordinator.
It's been a long, hard road. First, I had to get my foot in the door. Then our contractor class has been the most accelerated training group they've ever put through the system. Then the tough interview process. There's been two weeks of sheer hell I haven't journaled about with a big snafu with my college transcript that caused me more stress than I've felt in several years. But that's all behind me now.
Thanks to all my friends and family that have been so supportive through the entire process. Extra big thanks to
furycom and
capricious_k, who've angeled me in the door and through the process.
I know that most of my journal entries for the past 3 months have been about Google. That'll probably change now, and I'll get back to the rest of my life. Thank you, all.
