You people in the East Bay. Yeah, you! You've had it easy for a few years now. Ever since Ikea opened their first Northern California store in Emeryville you've had access to nice, inexpensive furniture. We Peninsula and South Bay people, however, have had to drive a long way with big vehicles to get what you have at your fingertips.
Well, soon no longer.
On August 27th Ikea is opening a new store in East Palo Alto. Traffic will be a bitch.
The new Ikea catalog just arrived in today's mail. They want me to shop at the new store. I spent a few minutes flipping through it, and spent $400 in my head before I got half way through and had to stop.
Dang, I need a job! Want new furniture, new computer, DVDs, CDs, stuffstuffstuff...
